May be relocating to HK in the near future and was wondering if there were satellite TV services that provide TV programming from the US.
If so how reliable are these services and how many and which stations are offered.
Thank you.

I don't have the full answer to your question, but some thoughts that might help:
* when folks on here discuss TV, it's rare anyone talks about satelite - which makes me think it's not common
* why not? well, for starters, where would you put the satelite? Remember, the VAST majority of people here (including expats) live in a huge block of flats with no independent access to the roof.....
* the TV most use is cable - NowTV or icable. You can google both of these to see what they carry.
* I have tried to look into satelite myself and was told that you can buy a dish here and subscribe to something called "dream" - but I never got further than that (I do have access to my own roof, but I live on a boat and therefore am not a typical user!)
* I think the solution most folks eventually turn to is some kind of torrent.....
I found some satellite ads offering Chinese sat TV programs along the free-to-air HDTV quality local stations.
