seek dinner and lunch food services in Kowloon

Seek Chinese dinner and lunch daily food delivered to home services.
Address is in Ho Man Tin, Kowloon. We are even willing to pick up.
Willing to accept each delivery for one of two days combination of dinners and lunch for one person.

If you know of any such service provider for Kowloon, please introduce to me. We are willing to go and pick up, but prefer food delivered.

The best is for home cooking, with different choices of dinners.

    Thank you.

Any Cha-Chan-Ten (Chinese Cafe) in the area will be able to deliver dinner and lunches to you. Their menu changes everyday, just enter a local joint and ask for a takeaway menu and whether they deliver to your address in question.

yes, we have tried many different local restaurants and cafes around this Ho Man Tin areas of Kowloon. They only want to deliver large catering of many dinners at one time. No luck so far. If you do have one very good Chinese restaurant or cafe near this area, please recommend to me and we can try this out.

We want to find vendors (especially family cooking) willing to offer like family type of one or two meals each time. We are willing to go pick up the dinners if delivery is not an option.

Thank you very much for your help.

Can you please tell me if there is a list of Chinese food to go for take out lunch and dinners?

Is there also a list of delivery of lunch and dinners?

We can use microwave to re-warm up the cooked food.

    Thank you.

Thank you very much for your sincere responses.

Yes, we check the domestic help agencies. Their typical hourly rate is around 65 to 75. For somebody to come and do cooking for lunch and dinner, that will be around 3 hours per day, 6 days a week. The cost will be over 5000 per month.
We are now paying 50 per hour, 4 hour per week to come and do cleaning.

May be you can tell me what restaurant to try? We called quite a numbers of Chinese restaurants around Ho Man Tin, Yau Ma Tei, Mongkok areas. We found none interested to deliver meals for one single person. We are willing to take 2 to 3 meals at one time, and microwave warm up the dinners before serving.

Yes, posting advertisements in ParkNShop or Welcome is great idea. May be that what we will try next time.

Our old lady ask not to hire any live-in maid anymore, because the Philippine and Indonesian maids we had before mistreated our old lady poorly and steal things. Because our old lady lives alone and weak, and we are overseas unable to tend to her, we know she was abused by the maids.

Do you know where Victory (Sing lay do) Road is? It's famous for all their pet stores and vets. Anyways, there are a couple of decent restaurants there (note I haven't been in half a year so now sure they've faired in this economy).

Closer to the Argyle side, there's this old local dive which has been open for decades and serves what we call in chinese 'fried spaghetti'. Prices aren't cheap for that style of food but it's not bad and there's a reason he's been open for so many years.

Near the middle, sorry no name but they usually have plastic Coca Cola crates stacked outside (look for the pictures taped to the window) there's a really tiny shop that specializes in Northern Chinese food like dumplings and such.

Then there's a well known place that specializes in Hai Nam chicken. Not the cheapest but they're quite good and always busy.

Sorry for the lack of names, I don't read Chinese so I never really bother finding out.

BTW for 5k you might as well get a fulltime live in helper.

Yes, We are very familiar with the areas around Waterloo, Sing Lay Do and Argyle. We test tried almost every restaurants. All very disappointed. Can you advise your best selections so that we can test tried the restaurants? If you do not wish to indicate the names, how about the street address? Or, the type of food they serve, such as Chinese Fast Food, Cantonese Noodle..?

Yes, we went through quite a lot of Philippians and Indonesian maids. Our old lady was abused when she was living alone of the maids. Many valuable items were stolen, even after we reported to the police. Our old lady wish not to hire any more live in maids.

I know this is a long shot but...

How about getting to know a friendly homesbody-type HK neighbour? Asking them for Chinese home cooking everyday? There should be a large presence of Chinese families where your old lady lives, it's just a case of convincing them that you are not a psycho. Can actually work as double plus as the neighbour can help check on your relative everyday.

Re: bad experiences with maids - Very sorry to hear your story, know about that kind of maid in HK unfortunately. I have seen a friend link up a kind of 3G camera system (Was checking on maid and baby when Mum/Dad were at work) and can check up on the home through a website. I know it's kind of big-brother, but you seem worried about the health of your relative to warrant this. Just a thought.

    Good luck.

We have a cooking lady once a week. She makes oat meal breakfast and freeze them. Also, she makes soups and stir fries for few days. Fried rice can be frozen. We pay $300 for 4 hours, but can get 10% discount if you buy 12 coupons at once. She can do shopping as well if you give her instruction.

This is through a local company. All of their maids are trained by HK government. Mine is currently taking 3 months course to improve her skill. I have never had a problem with her. Now I can leave her alone. For your information, this company sends you only Cantonese workers.

If you are interested in it, please send me a private message.

Yes, we have tried for many years. But so far, unable to find any neighbor willing to share their maid. In fact, I think it is illegal to hire out your maid, out side of the original contract.
Neither has not been lucky to find any friendly homebody type neighbor to provide cooking. We have live in this same building for over 30 years.
