well i thought it was going to be some how as they claim they serve their meals family style.

    from their website
Your meal will begin with a traditional New Orleans Gumbo and end with one of Lori’s fabulous desserts – pace yourself for everything in between! You’ll leave having been well taken care of, well fed and feeling at home.

    Mains
    (served ‘family style’)

    Shrimp Etouffee w/ Steamed Rice
    Cajun Barbecue Ribs
    Soft Shell Crabs Amandine
    Jambalaya
    Smothered Okra & Tomatoes
    Homemade Cornbread

Family style pretty much means you're all sat around a table and share the dishes on the table and serve yourself.

Exactly. So everyone may get slightly different portions (since some may eat more of one dish and less of another) but it's definitely not all you can eat.

"Gumbo Zerbes" is a New Orleanian spelling for a dish whose name ("okra [stew] with greens") reflects a language spoken by very few there these days. "zjerbes" is how it is said in the Creole-speaking areas upriver eyou zaricots sont pas sale.

FWIW, my Taiwanese relatives refer to jambalaya as "fried rice" as well (although it is not fried at all).
