Moving from Thailand to Hong Kong please help

    And I would be surprised if you can get a place for your son at an international school if you do not hold a HK ID card, which requires an Employment or Investment Visa.

    Hello Wrangler, you will find some of your questions answered in many threads in Geobaby.com (especially about international school). I am from Malaysia, to me, the cost of living in HK is about 50% more expensive than Malaysia. I think it is more expensive than Thailand too.

    to support USD$4500/mo for two people including tuition for your son will be very VERY tight... you would have to live about 75% local on my "golfduke salary scale" to live comfortably.

    you would be needing US$4500 for a family in HK...
    it's tough to moving to a city that's more expensive than the origin.

    *I heard the average salary is only US$300 in Thailand
    is this true?

    Yes on 300$ you can live on but you will live like a dog.

    A thai peapole live on about 200$ per mounth.
