    Bus routes

There must be over a thousand bus routes in HK; is there a website to assist riders as to which number bus to catch and where at a particular location or street?

Sorry to bother you guys with all these questions, but I feel like fish out of water in this big city.

Citybus & NWFB - Members of Chow Tai Fook Enterprises and NWS Holdings - Home

You can search by Bus No., point-to-point or bus stop.

    Also this government site.

Or the Public Transport Enquiry Service, which covers all buses, minibuses, MTR. LRT & ferries.

(The site linked by previous posters only covers Citybus and NewWorld buses)

Found that the website centamap is excellent, as it shows the bus stops in each street, and then when you click on each stop it gives the bus/minibus number and a link to the whole route for that number, prices, frequency etc.

Also, we found our GPS was completely useless on HK island cos of tall buildings. We could use it on Cheung Chou Island limitedly.

also if you want a great reference for bus routes buy the 2010 ver of this map (2010地圖王/2010 Hong Kong Map/dei taau wong) from any bookstore, basically, just flick to an area, tells you which buses are available at that area and where they go to.

also has info on night mini bus ( yeah, the dangerously fast ones) and MTR, and other info such as car park prices, places to eat and shop,etc..
