    Shenzhen Border Visa $$

We will visit Hong Kong in early next year.
We also plan to go to Shenzhen for a day
or two, by KCR via Lo Wu and apply for
the Visa at China Travel in the border and
walk to Shenzhen. Does anyone know the
current visa fee? I hold a British Passport &
my husband US passport. Is it easy to get
    the visa for both. Thanks.

US citizens are not allowed to get the 'on-the-spot' visa at the Lo Wu border crossing into Shenzhen. But everyone else is. For British citizens I think it is something in the area of 180 HKD. The only option for your husband is to apply for the visa a few days before you want to go to China. It will cost a bit more, however.

I was at the border a few weeks ago, there was a huge sign saying that US passports can NOT get a on-the-spot visa anymore.

Ok, thanks for correcting me. Don't want to give out false information.

DON'T go to the "China Travel Service" - go DIRECT to the issuing office entrance in Harbour Road Wanchai, and lift to 5th floor of China Resources Building. Get a visa in 24 hours - normal service - or a premium co$t for a few hour wait - turn up with passport sized pix for them. Any other "agent" charges additional co$t$ to get you a visa.
