    Signature

    Hi,

I use two signatures, but want to use only one of them in the future, eliminating the other, so I have a couple of questions regarding signatures:

    - Does anyone use more than signature depending on the purpose?
    - Has anyone ever changed their signature?

I was 12 when I first signed off on anything officially - it was my second passport. Needless to say it was a kiddy signature and one that I continue to use on all forms and applications related to travel and immigration. My subsequent passports have included this retarded signature.

Lucky for me, I opened my first bank account much later in life, using a much nicer-looking signature, which I use to sign off on everything else (my initials-only signature is derived from this).

Both would require tremendous effort and talent to precisely copy, but now I really want to change my passport signature to the one I use for everything else, thereby having just the one signature. Nevertheless, it would be seen as a change of signature, the way I see it.

I have run out of pages on my current passport and will have to apply for a new one (no additional booklets for me) this week. I will be checking with the concerned office about this prior to posting my application, but before I do that I would like to know if anyone else has ever found themselves in the same situation, or if anyone else could shed some light on this.

    Thanks,

    Shakermaker

I changed my signature a good few years ago. My original signature was very long and complicated but I found myself having to sign lots of documents at work so I cut it down drastically.

I changed it on everything - drivers licence, passport, bank account etc. None of the organisations seemed to have any issue with it as I recall.

I have the same problem atm. My passport carries a silly signature along with my first bank account, where as subsequent bank accounts have new signature. I am planning to get a new passport for the same reason as you i.e. no more blank pages. So I went to the cosulate here and asked them if it can be done, they said yes in the new passport you can have your new signature, so just submit the form with new signature and required documents. I think you should do the same and inquire at your consulate, shouldn't be a problem.
