A Little American Boat or Two...

I read in the paper this morning that Uncle Sam is in town. Trouble is I can't see where!

I can see the smaller ship moored out by North Point from my office window but what I really want to have a look at is the USS Nimitz aircraft carrier.

Does anybody know a) where they are moored and b) which of Hong Kong's numerous ferries goes nearby so I can get a closer look?

Due to the shallow depth of the harbour, they usually park the big boys near the big bridge, You might try taking the DB ferry and should be able it.

This kind of information is on the Mardep website.

The Nimitz is at Western Anchorage No. 2.

I checked the Mardep site but couldn't find anything on there. Where does it list what ship docks where?

    Arrivals and Departures

Put "Nimitz" into the Search box for ocean-going vessels.

I can see most of the harbour from my office and I can't see it anywhere. I might jump on the E11 airport bus later because that goes past the port and over the Tsing Yi bridge. Should be able to spot a great big aircraft carrier somewhere in Western Hong Kong!
