totally confused - internet + TV?

I searched so much on this site and now am totally confused on the broadband and cable tv plans!!!

    My requirements:-
    1. Fast broadband (can download 700mb movie in say, 20min, or watch on the go!)
    2. Cable TV with sports , music and news channels!

Ques 1: I know pccw offers all, but is that the best and most cost competitive? How abt speed, reliability and cost aspects of HGC, HKBN, iCable? Whats iCable?

Ques 2: Could someone kindly tell me is combo of pccw netvigator and nowTV cheaper and better or combo of say, icable and HKBN, or does icable offer both etc?

Ques 3: How do i know what connection my building supports? I stay in Bonham Road, Mid-levels.

    Regards.

That's possible but be realistic and keep in mind that the offered speed is only guaranteed between your home and their access point, possibly within their infrastructure, too. No ISP will guarantee you a certain bandwidth or speed if you download data from overseas, as soon as it's outside of their infrastructure you are depending on the upload speed of the server(s), congestion in the Internet, bandwidth limitations on overseas and international connections etc. As well the ISP may apply traffic shaping and slow down e.g. torrents.

No complaints here, I have a netvigator and nowTV bundle, my connection (18M) is fast and reliable/stable.

If you consider having many English channels as better than PCCW / nowTV will probably be it.

Walk into the shops of PCCW etc. and ask, they will know once you tell them your exact address (including building name and tower/block).

    1. Probably yes, but via a decent seed on Torrent, or sign up to Usenet. Normally the slowest here is an 6M connection. I have an 8M connection with PCCW and can download a HD show (about 800mb) in under 20 mins.

    2. stay away from icable, they are bad bad bad (unless you are into football, then you may have to subscribe to icable).

    3. You can check online with HKBN if they cover your building. Otherwise call the various providers up and they will tell you which services they offer for your building.

personally I would ditch the Now cable, nothing great on it anyway, and stick to downloads.
