Can they damage your entertainment equipment?
yes, the laser sometimes has to work harder to try and watch them, so potentially it will wear out quicker.. but its cheaper to buy a new DVD player every 6 months than it is to start buying real DVDs
If you intend to watch a lot of knock-off DVDs you might want to consider getting a cheap mainland branded DVD player. They usually have a lower tolerance for poor recordings and will play all the various formats of self-burnt discs. They are also very cheap too.
My HiFi receiver is also my DVD player. Is it possible to hook a cheap DVD player up to my HiFi receiver?
>>Just don't get caught bringing them back! They'll fine you to hell.<<
Very true Jay. These days they are also checking foreigners specifically for fake dvd's at the HK side of the border. The fine is $500-$1000 per disc and a morning in court.
What about posting them back? My mother wants me to send some :-)
Risky. If you must I would send it without your mum's name but with the words "The Owner" and the address and don't provide your address or any other enclosures.
thanks for the tip
