Conduit Road

I am moving to an apartment on Conduit Road, Midlevels. Is there a good and safe place to live? Any good restaurant for take away near by? Thanks.

As safe as you can hope for in Hong Kong.

Conduit Road is about 5-10 minutes (depending on where your building is) from Soho where about you'll find about 30+ restaurants. Also, all the Island side delivery companies will deliver food ...

You couldn't have chosen a better place for restaurants! Just go for short walks down the hill from your apartment and you'll come across plenty.

Hmmm. Well I have always rejected Conduit Road as a place to live precisely because it is too far from shops (there are no shops at all on Conduit Road as far as I know) and restaurants. But I guess I have been spoilt living on Robinson by the escalator for a few years.

I think people who've been living in Hong Kong get used to extreme proximity. I guess it's understandable - why walk three blocks when you can walk one?

Agreed Conduit Road is inconvenient for amenities and buses but it is by that respect quieter. Robinson Road is a better choice. Don't know about the flat sizes there but Conduit has some older properties with large flats and high ceilings.
