    Petrol Discount Card

Just bought a mini and full tank costs HK$800. Wanna know how does the petrol discount card work. How much can I save for a full tank HK$800?

i only ever use my esso card. a full tank for my 7 passenger van is about $600 (wow! you have a large tank!). on a full tank, i save about $35... but for every dollar i spend, i get 1 point. when i get to 7500 points, i get $300 free petrol, too.

it's a better deal if you get a credit card from them, but i hate credit cards and am not very good with them, so i prefer cash.

Thanks! I don't wanna use Credit Card for Petrol too. I prefer cash and I just want to see how much discounts I can get. As I found it annoying that I will have to get different discount cards for different stations!
I know the Star card from Caltex and it says HK$1.7 discount! I don't understand how it works. The mini is only 1.6 litre but it's a cooper S.
I just want to see if it's worth to apply for the card.

    $1.7 dollars cheaper per litre.

For eg. Say it costs $14.95 per Litre, you put in 60 Litres = $897, with your discount card it becomes $795 so you save $102. Should be a montly statement and they deduct it from you bank (autopay).

We use shell - the three gas stations close to office and home are all Shell stations.

We've stuck to the shell card - seems to have a number of special prices, but have never really done any analysis on how to further optimize. I assume using the Shell / Citibank card might be a good deal?

it is deducted AT THE PUMP. but it isn't as much of a discount, i guess.
