Hi just wonderng if anyone has any good advice about family holiday destinations to go to for a week or so .. will probably take our helper but want somewhere with a bit of nightlife for us but great beaches and things to do and see with the kids during the day (as well as a great beach!!!) ... Our kids are 1 and 3.

We just came back from Phuket with our 2.5 yr old, and I would recommend it, we found the people very warm and friendly to the kids. The beach and pool of the place we stayed in was gorgeous so lazing around is definitely not a chore! We did not venture out, but heard that Patong is where the night life is, so you might choose a place closer to that area.

Cairns, Australia is also a good place for beaches and nightlife. We were there for a day in January (on our way to Port Douglas). Loved every minute of it!

    Will definitely second HKfornow's suggestion.

We, too, visited Phuket recently and it's an amazing vacation place! We stayed for 3 days at the Nai THon Beach and then, for 3 days at the Patong Beach. If you want to know about a cheap accomodation in Patong, lemme know, I'll send you the link to the hotel website.

Thanks for your help ... i have heard phuket is great however we really aren't lazing around type... its okay for a few days but we also want shopping and interesting things to see and do? Has anyone been to CEBU or Borocay?

    Thanks

not been to phuket but heard there's lots to do there. i did not find much to do outside the hotel in cebu, nice beaches and all, but not much night life or shopping. as for boracay, do not think i would take kids there, at least not kids that young. its a trek to get there....
