accident causing traffic this AM on connaught road/island east corridor

just curious if anyone else got caught up in it? i was on my way away from central/cbay- and saw that shortly before getting into causeway bay (going west), i saw a double decker bus with it's front window hanging off, must've slammed into a coach bus-- there were a few other vehicles in between though i'm not sure if they were moved- then hung up on a trailer was a late model yamaha r6 in white with it's front end smushed.

saw an ambulance or two on scene...but not much eles. anyone else see this/know what happened/have any news articles on it?

    電單車失控自炒
巴士相撞 18人傷, headline translated as motorcycle lost control , bus collision, 18 people injured

    rough translation

apparently motor cyclist lost control, bus hit a coach as it sweved to avoid the bike, hit a coach, 17 people on the bus or coach injured, motor cyclist also injured.

See if anyone understand the Google English:

Since the motorcycle out of control speculation 18 injured bus collision

At 8 am, a motorcycle along the eastern corridor to King's Road westbound near the out of control from the speculation, throwing the motorcyclist was injured, a coach carrying Jisha employees to work, but trailing a new bus brake and hit the rear coach, coach and bus 17 passengers were injured.

    ------

I always found google translate very amusing.. =)

ouch. i'd be interested to see how the bike lost control. its pretty hard as a motorcycle rider to lose control unless someone cuts you off, or you're drunk...the former being more likely.

a momentary lapse of concentration, a (more than) momentary perve of the driver of the car going past, being a yob and doing something fun (aka stupid), fatigue, steel plates on the road, oil/water/debris on the road, sudden braking due to traffic in font -> skidding followed by high-siding -> splat ... need we go on? the list is endless.

Riding a bike for 2 hours used to wear me out more than driving from Melbourne to Sydney. I used to find riding 50min home after a day at work was almost the end of me, and one day it came darn close to being the end of me. Bike sold shortly after

if riding a bike for 2 hours wore you out, you should probably hit the gym. i used to do 4-6hr rides that would wear me out. 1-2 hour rides break, then another 1-2 hours back= no problem- ESP. if it were highway riding.
