    Building Reviews

Hi everyone, I am getting closer to my move company is putting together the contract as we speak.

This is a great forum and I want to thank all of you'z that have replied to my questions.

The next step for me is to schedule a premove visit but I wanted to get some feedback on apartment buildings and neighborhoods from experienced expats so I can give the real estate agent a list of properties I like to see. I've been using Hong Kong Homes site to search for suitable housing.

Can you folks provide some feedback for the following buildings and neighborhood (quality, mgmt, safety, facilities, convenience, and proximity to Central)?

    Pokfulam Area:
    - Residence Bel-Air
    - Yar Chee Villas
    - The Belcher's

    Wan Chai:
    - Convention Plaza

    North Point Hill:
    - Pacific Palisades
    - Le Sommet

    Mid Levels West:
    - Cherry Crest
    - Lyttelton Garden
    - Palatial Crest

Many thanks in advance for any feedback you can give me on these places. I look forward to joining your communities.

    Regards,

    George

Cherry Crest is great in my opinion. They clean the entrance within an inch of its life every morning, and there are always 1-2 very friendly doormen on duty. The gym is quite small with only a few pices of equipment but I am the only person that uses it. The pool just got licensed and opens next week. The location is excellent - about 5mins walk along Staunton street or Hollywood Road to the escalator, the same up some stairs to the Welcome and Parkn Shop on Caine Road and the same down to the Sheung Wan station. The apartments are all new and whilst they could have been designed better and totally lack storage they are better than many I saw when I was looking. I feel totally safe there and the neighbourhood is quiet by HK standards - the building is taller than everything else and set a bit apart so there is a feeling of space on the high floors and virtually no traffic on the surrounding streets.

Check the building reviews on gohome.com.hk. You'll find that most buildings are rated there, good and bad.
