Guess I won't make a "Where are all the Filipinos?" thread, because everyone will just say, they're all in the Philippines, hahaha...

IMO, there might be some reasons why people put ethnic-specific or location-specific threads...

location-specific: people in the same area can actually hang even during weekdays, since they live closeby, and it's also a great way of getting acquainted with the nice restos and bars in their area (kudos to K-1, Q Place and Sabah restaurant...)

ethnic-specific: it's always great to meet people all over, but once in a while, it's just a bit comforting to speak to someone with your background, your mother tongue, and gripe about how your government sucks...

What I personally couldn't comprehend is why people will say they're looking for a SPECIFIC race/ethnicity/region when they're not even part of that. Enlighten me please!!!

Aleksa, I wouldn't be too worried about it if I were you. This is an open thread, many people are invited to make comments and pose questions, there's no reason to feel aggravated or confused.

Why not arrange a meeting or a get-together with the people that have replied to you on this thread (at least the ones you were looking for, anyway) and take it from there?

I think it's always interesting to meet people from all over the place, but what I find kinda weird is when people get super specific, like when you see ad's for a flat-share from a korean-american saying they are looking only for a female japanese room-mate. Does that mean they'd even exclude themselves from consideration?

Besides, not everyone on this site is western! There are lots of asians here who have lived, grown up, born etc in Western countries...
