Major Company Sponpser but no Degree

Hi people, I've recently accepted a job with a major mobile phone company who are doing my work visa application. Is it true that if you don't have a degree you wont get a working visa??? I have 9 years experience in Workforce Planning but not a degree, does this mean I may not be able to meet the requirements of the HK Immigration?

No, it's not true, but it makes ImmD look harder at your qualifications & experience. If the HR department of your potential employer is experienced in these matters then it shouldn't be a problem per se.

Thanks, in regards to qualifications, haven't really got any, just the 9 years in my specialist role for 3 large companies... and a copy of certificates on Project management, thats it really.

If you are, in effect, coming on an internal transfer from Telstra to CSL then that would make it all a lot smoother. Internal transfers are the most common way for expats to come to HK (according to previous surveys here) and ImmD seems very comfortable with them.

Funny you should guess it's CSL, and yes I am from Australia but no I don't work for Telstra, I actually have just resigned from UBank Pty Ltd ( National Australia Bank ). So it's not an internal transfer, I wish it was, as I know it's quite simple like that.
