The HKID have extended the general service appointment booking capability from web bookings to telephone bookings.

From March 17, the Immigration Department extended its branch office telephone bookings service to include appointments for submitting applications for travel documents or extensions of stay. The telephone number is 2598 0888.

Appointments can still be made via the Internet at www.esd.gov.hk.
By using the booking service, members of the public can save time by avoiding queuing at Immigration branch offices to make appointments.
The HKID web site reports:

"Applicants can make a maximum of four appointments in one booking…… they can select appointments within 12 working days of the day they make the booking. And they can change or cancel the appointments later. Also, the existing appointment booking service through the same telephone number or the ESD Scheme for registration of identity cards at the Registration of Persons Offices has been enhanced by advancing the earliest appointment day to the next working day."

Further information is available on the HKID website www.immd.gov.hk or via their hotline 2824 6111.
