No it isn't. BN(O) was a specific status that people could choose to apply for in the years leading up to 1997.

Hi, I'm planning to visit Japan soon and I saw that Japan is in the list of visa-free countries too. So, does anyone ever visit Japan with HKSAR passport?

Ah, it's going to be a short trip like a week only.

Er, yes, of course - what a strange question! Hundreds of HKSAR passport holders go to Japan every day I guess.

lol. Pretty strange because I never use HKSAR passport as travel document before. I got Vietnamese passport an prior one. I live in Vietnam all the time never return to HK before.

So, this is going to be strange too, then how HKers go to USA? Is it hard to get the visa? Because it is pretty hard right here.

It's not hard for HKSAR passport holders to get a US Visa in Hong Kong, although it might be more difficult if you are not resident here.

No - that's after you have actually attended an interview at the consulate. You need to book an appointment online, and from Appointment Tips
Appointment dates are currently available two months from the present date.

I must admit I thought there might have been a catch. US Federal Government efficient? My low expectations have been restored.
