Hong Kong immigration checkpoints and mainland China checkpoints

I read that as of September 12 2006, people with the Right to Land or people who have been granted unconditional stay can use the e-channel to pass through Hong Kong Immigration points. I have the Right to Land. Do I use the line that says Hong Kong Permanent Identity Card or are they going to open up a new e-channel line for everyone else ?

What other advantages do I have when I go to Shen Zhen ? I noticed that there were two lineups - Hong Kong Residents and Foreigners. Is the Hong Kong resident line only for home return permit holders or can any Hong Kong resident use that line ? This will save me a lot of time as oppose to using the foreigner line.

Assuming you do not have a re-entry permit.
If you go in/out of China. Always use the foreigners counter.
If you go in/out of Hong Kong. Always use the PR counter.

e-channel? Is it the thing like the MTR gate? If this is the case, AFAIK anyone with a smart ID card can use it.

To use the e-channel you need to either go to immigration who will place a label in your passport (if you're in HK) or go through the normal passport control on the way in who will sort this for you. Once this has been done you can use the normal e-channel gates.

When you go to Shenzhen you will still need to use the Foreigners entry point, the HK residents one is just for those with a return home permit.

They still have to go through the passport control, it's just their passports wont be stamped anymore. They can't use e-channel until they have smart ID card.

I have a label on my passport from immigration saying " Previous Conditions of stay are hereby cancelled ". Is this the label ?

    In fact:
the checkpoints at Luohu/Huanggang or elsewhere in Shenzhen have two lanes:
    1) one for HK/Macao Chinese holding the "Mainland Travel Permit for Hongkong/Macao Residents"
    2) and one for ALL other persons, including OTHER Chinese citizens and foreign nationals

Merely holding a HKID does not entitle you to a "Mainland Travel Permit", or to queue at the HK residents' lane when entering the mainland.
