Visa Extension - not your usual question.....

We applied for our extension visa's about 3 weeks ago, just before going on holiday. Our visa's expire in a week's time. We have been told to collect our new visa's on Monday.

However, since applying for the visa (which involved handing over a passport) and the collection tomorrow, MrMin07's passport has become, ahem, unusable. (Due to a certain amount of jetlag, it went through the wash last night!).

He does have another passport (different nationality) and we plan to turn up tomorrow, explain, grovel and hope they will put the visa in the UK passport.....

Just wondering if anyone has had experience of a similar problem and how it turned out?

Oops, sorry. Please disregard my reply below. I should turn on my brain before I reply.

    ...

Can he not just use the ID card and the e-Channel to leave/enter HK without passport?

Then you would just wait for the new passport before you pick up the new sticker at the immigration department... I don't think they have a problem if you postpone your appointment or don't show up.
