Hello, I was issued China Home Return Permit in 2002 and it is about to expire in 2012. Recently I heard that HKSAR passport is required when applying for China Home Return permit. If I am not mistaken, that policy came into practice starting 2005. Will I experience any problems in renewing my China home return permit next year considering the fact that I do not hold a HKSAR passport ?
To give you a little background, I was born in the Philippines to a Hong Kong father. When I reach the age of 11, I was give a child HKID. And then at 18 years old, I was give an adult HKID. In 2006, my adult HKID was replaced with a Smart Card version. I have "*** AO" on my HK ID. Recently, I applied for a HKSAR passport but got denied because my father had the right of abode (visa issued to aliens) in the Philippines by the time I was born. He holds a British Passport even while staying in the Philippines for a few years.
Back to my question, will I experience problems when renewing my china home return permit if I am not a holder of HKSAR passport ?
