Question Does PR allow their dependant to work?

My husaband is Chinese and was born in Hong Kong in 1955 and lived there for 21 years before leaving in 1976 to move to Canada to further his higher education. We would now like to return to Hong Kong to live and work. We assume that he would qualify for ROA and Permanent Residence therefore would not require a Work Visa to work. Does anyone know if this assumption is correct?

Also, I am his wife of 13 years. I am non-Chinese and also a Canadian citizen. I assume that he would sponsor me for a Dependant Visa. Would I be able to work under this Dependent Visa and not require my own Work Visa? I am assuming yes since I've read here that Depedant Visa of people with Work Visas seem to be able to work.

I would appreciate any help in clarifying this for me.

It sounds like you'll be OK. However, pls check with the govt first.

From my memory, the immigration over here will take time to answer your question by phone too if you tell them the situation.
