Unhappy Visa Renewal (work visa & Dependant visa)

    Hi all,

I wonder if anyone experienced this before:
My husband's work visa expires in early Aug and he's going on a rotation in London for 4 months from Apr and return HK in the mid of Aug. The HR tried to submit our visa renewal applications today and got rejected. Is there any other ways to do it?

Well, when the HR went to the immigration office, they were told to change the rotation time. That doesnt help at all.

So what do you think we can say that will somehow be more helpful than the official answer from ImmD? Either you change the rotation timing or you reapply for new visas before you return from London. What else can we say?

Normally initially for one year and then renewed for two years, assuming you have an open-ended contract.

when you renewal for the two year after the two year is up you gotta renew two more yearS?

Yes, normally. But sometimes they give 3 years, sometimes only 1.

The default is 1-2-2-3 (entry visa is one year, then two two-year visas, then three years). The idea is that you apply for PR in your eighth year (the 3rd year of the 3 year visa).

But they won't give you the full two or three years if your contract ends before that.
