Live in HK but work in ShenZhen - Visa?

Not sure if this is the correct place to ask my questions... Anyway...
I will be working in HK and my wife will be following me as a dependant.

My wife would prefer to work rather than live as a dependant. However, we understand the unemployment situation in HK and have little hopes of landing a job for her in HK.
My friends suggested that she could search for a job in ShenZhen where there's a demand for English speaking Chinese. (BTW we are Singaporeans).
Is this true that it's easier to get a job in ShenZhen?
Anyone has similar experience, pls share and advise...
Are there going to be any VISA requirements/problems?

    hello

If she is working in Shenzhen they she would need to apply for an employment visa there.

There is teaching opportunities in Hong Kong, Foreign National teachers are still being offered positions in Hong Kong.

well... I too have advise from friends for my wife to seek a teaching job. Typical of Singaporeans, she's only billigual in English and Chinese (+Dialects). I have the impression that HK locals are also trained in both the languages. I'm not sure how "sellable" are her language skills.
Besides, she has a degree in Engineering and would wish to continue her work in the industry or business sector.
But of course, we truely understand the difficulty for Foreigner to seek job and would seriously take up a teaching job if it comes her way.

Anyway, anyone has good websites to recommend on information on living in HK but travelling to ShenZhen daily for work and its VISA requirments in China, ShenZhen??

If here English is fluent (and she can restrain herself to speak British English without dropping into Singlish) then she should be able to get a teaching job in HK fairly easily. If she speaks Cantonese then perhaps private tutoring would be lucrative. A fairly low proportion of HK locals are fluent enough in English to teach it.

I think Hongkong Immigration laws have changes regardeing dependent visa holders, they are not permitted to work unless they hold a permanent HK ID, correct me please if i am wrong.

I also think that Hongkong usually hire native speaking english teachers (British, Americans, Canadians, Australians, New Zealand)with University english units and degrees, specially those who passed Toefl, Ielts and other internatinal english tests, nevertheless one can always try applying for teaching english. Good luck!
