Thumbs down Faking the identity and got Permanent ID card as well

    How strange is it

I know a person who completely faked his identity in Pakistan and got pakistani ID card with fake identity and the got Permanet ID card of Hong Kong after marrying a hong kong lady with same fake name. And that lady also knew about his fake identity.

Is it right or wrong to report about that guy?

Amazingly immigration dept didn't investigated well to know his orginal identity or maybe he seemed an original person because of marriage with a hong kong girl.

It is your duty to others to speak out about things that you may perceive to be a danger to others.

If you believe this person to be hiding his purpose for any other reason than persecution from an oppressive regime and PK is a very grey area for some, then you should give information in the correct way.

The question also begs. If escaping from an oppressive regime then why not claim asylum. Answer from HK -- very few will be accepted and PK persons NIL expectancy.

You know what to do. Coming here trying to transfer guilt for not doing so is not what a strong person would do and I doubt , even if everyone said YES, that you would have the ability to carry it out. HAVING KNOWN THIS THING FOR A LONG TIME AND DONE NOTHING.

Just FYI you can't get a Permanent HK ID card just by marrying a HK PR - you need to live 7 years in HK as man and wife first.

Didn't immigration notice that husband and wife had the same fake name? Do you John Smith (or Pakastani equivalent) take John Smith to be your husband/wife.

Seriously, for me it would all depend on the reasons and circumstances.

You must be mistaken - unless that employee took Chinese Citizenship there is no way for him to get Right of Abode without 7 years continuous residence.

Certainly immigration dept didn't get the clue about the fake identity of that guy.
Though his wife has original identity but she knew that his husband is using fake identity in Pakistan and same fake identity is being used to get into Hong Kong and then being used in all documents like HK ID.

"Sleepers" in Hongkong? Would be interesting to see if he wants to migrate to Australia or any other western country, or am I painting the devil on the wall?
    Or seeing the bogeyman?

There could be other reasons besides terrorism for example he may have been refused entry under his real name, they were madly in love and saw this as the only way to be together. Not saying that would be right and in fact would be pretty stupid given the consequences of being found out.

I was in a similar situation with my gf (now wife) being refused entry. However, after months of pleading immigration came through. They even returned our photos calling them "memories of a great love". Sweet. They can be human sometimes. Even rang me on the evening of our wedding to give their congratulations (or to check we had got married depending on how cynical you are). Best to be honest.
