Good immigration lawyer?

    Personally I think you would have to be nuts to consider using any of those services. Why throw money away when you can obviously write well and the immigration application process is fairly straight forward? If you pay one of these guys, you'll still have to do the lion-share of the work. They can't produce letters of reference, financial records, academic transcripts, letters of intent etc. for you. You'll end up paying thousands of dollars for templates (which you could find with a 2 second Google search).

    Yes on straightforward things, but sometimes it gets more complicated.

    Very true. Especially when it gets to the requirements of a business plan for an investment visa for example or when you try to get a visa without a diploma which in exceptions will be granted.

    If you're smart enough and industrious enough to have created a (presumably successful) business without a diploma, then it should be a breeze for you to jump through the Immigration hoops and justify your professional skills.

    I just think it's madness to pay people thousands of dollars for templates and wanky words of wisdom.

    So have you gone to discuss this with Immigration? Or are you just thinking the worst?
