    PCCW isn't ripping anyone off, especially compared to US ISPs. They're excellent, even for things like multiplayer gaming. I think the big problem that people have with them is that their customer service is terrible, but I thankfully never had to deal with their customer service.

    I guess the definitive answer is that I won't get collared by immigration, but credit reports may come back to bite me. I intend to pay the thing back so I won't have to look over my shoulder forever. Thanks for your responses, I'll feel a little more relaxed rolling through customs.

    Probably a wise choice but from what people are saying is that communication companies over here do not chase debts. Strange when I consider a large fitness chain in the UK (and also has a few in HK) will start legal proceedings for outstanding membership.
