"Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Re-entry Permits" vs "Travel VISA"???

    hello,

Currently I hold a Canadian passport and the new HK citizenship ID card. Due to a lot of reasons, I have to go to Guangzhou directly first then HK. This mean I'll need traveler visa to enter Guangzhou and go back HK after to get my "Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Re-entry Permits"

    question is:

are we still allow to obtain the "Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Re-entry Permit" after we used the Traveler visa to enter China ???????

I don't knowfor sure, but I assume it should be no problem. Why would you have to show them your passport when applying for the re-entry permit?

ya i guess it makes sense. The only way they know I used my traveler visa is by looking at my passport. But I doubt I need to show them my password when applying for the re-entry to china permit(only need to show the my HK ID card), but I am not 100% sure this since I never applied for a re-entry to china permit. Can anyone confirm this???
