Changing my surname?

    Unhappy Changing my surname?

I'm 15 years old and would like to change my surname (go by the surname of my American mother instead of my Chinese father). Unfortunately I have many travel documents: Hong Kong ID, Chinese home return permit (回乡证), United States passport, birth certificate. So would changing my surname be possible? If so, what would the whole process be, and how long do you think it would take?
Also, I was born in Hong Kong.

Thanks to anyone who can help!

You will need legal document known as Deed Poll
but as you are only 15 years old you will need
parental consent / signature before a solicitor. Once
the Deed has been signed, you will then need to go to
each of the different certificate issuing authorities such as HK Immigration Dept, PRC office who issues your re-entry permit to change the relevant identification documents.
