    Yes apparently they are mandatory checks so carried out on all applications but you are not allowed to know what they are. I would assume police checks, employer checks, bank checks, I really can't think what the rest are. The annoying thing is if they told me what they were I am sure I could expedite.

    No idea, probably both. Just hoping the serial killing spree I went on does not prejudice their application. Seriously though it SHOULD be pretty straightforward. I have a secure job, we have a house, have been married years with kids to show. I think they might have gone on holiday for a while!

    ? After the Olympics (when they were all IN the Embassy, but watching the telly) they are now on holiday sleeping off the after party. Have more luck when it starts to get cold.....
