    Worried about Visa

My partner has accepted a position in Hong Kong starting beginning Feb, with sponsored visa from company-however, i am really unsure on entering HK on my UK passport only. I know I can visit for max 6 mnths but his new position is permanent & I wonder how many times I can enter HK without Customs getting funny with me.. I have no job in Hong Kong & therefore cannot get sponsorship & we are not married so cannot get dependants visa either. As it is only a few weeks til the move, we did not plan on rushing out to get a "quickie" marriage! We cannot be the only couple to find ourselves in this position....

    6 months is a long time !!
I am sure you can time you absence from HK around the RTL expiring. A two week holiday to visit family in the summer and two weeks at Xmas New Year and you wont even think about it.

If you need to work, because you do now and need you own independent " running away money " then that's another issue and you would have to apply your own work visa. But " visiting your BF " on an expended period, not much of a problem at all.

Customs won't get funny with you regardless the number of times you enter HK with a UK passport. I have a lot of HK entry stamps on my UK passport. I used to travel a lot so I got a stamp almost every fortnight.

If you think 6 months is not a long enough stay in HK, then the easiest way to extend your 6 month visa is to visit Macau, a one hour ferry journey away for around 20 pounds return. Hope this will ease your concerns.
