    Expired Dependant Visa Renewal

    Hi all,

My mum has (or rather, had) a HK Dependant Visa and she is a HKID card holder. Her visa was due for renewal last October but she could not be in HK anytime then because of some work that needed her presence back home in Mumbai.

She is planning to visit HK sometime this year. Any idea as to how I go about renewing an expired dependant visa ? Have any of you been in this situation before ?

    Cheers

    Gauri

Just apply for a new one. What's hard about that? I assume your are a PR to be able to do that.

You can't renew a visa that's expired. It's expired (cue Dead Parrot sketch). So, as above, you apply for a new one. She's also reset the PR clock back to zero.

Also, from the OP, seems to suggest the mother is not actually residing in HK, but visits (and it seems she's been out of the country since last Oct).

I presume immigration will need some sort of proof that she is residing in hk or intends to reside?
