Visitor Visa to the UK for Philippine Passport Holder

I am from the UK and have a UK passport and want to take my girlfriend, who is a Philippine passport holder and working in Hong Kong, to the UK for a 2 week holiday later this year.

I have looked at the requirements for a Visitor Visa on the UK Border Agency website but wondered if anyone could share their experiences or recommendations with regard to this.

I haven't been able to find anything on the timeframe or cost of the application.

Years ago so struggling to remember - we were married so a bit different. I was told at the time that it is more difficult if not married. We applied in Manila as well not in Hong Kong.
