Extend Visitor visa till dependant visa process

Before posting i went through many thread here about this but still i was having some doubts. So iam holding Indian passport and iam here in Hongkong for an assignment for a duration of 1 year and then return back to India. Iam here on Employment Visa of 1 year holding HKID.Now i want to call my wife here on dependant visa for entire duration of my tenure but it will take approx 4-7 weeks for dependant visa to process. So if i apply for dependant visa from india and after 2 weeks if i call my wife here on aaarival visa(14 days) then until her dependant visa is process i want her to stay in hongkong so there are two ways...

    1) Extend the visitor visa OR
    2) go to macau and return back( for wife do i need visa to goto Macau)

So can you explain how both this work and which one will work in my case.
Also if i call her on 14 days visa then do i need return ticket if not then in India how the immigration will allow me to board the plane i guess without Visa they dont allow not sure about Hongkong, please correct me if iam wrong.

For the future reference of others, the correct approach would have been to apply for the Dependant Visa at the same time as the Employment Visa. The forms are designed to make this easy!

But since you have not done so, apply as soon as possible. It is hard to say how long it will take. So yes your wife can come before it is finalised and yes she can go away to somewhere (does not have to be Macau!) and come back in again. However there is NO guarantee this will work. You could also try applying for an extension of the visitor visa. Again, there is NO guarantee this will work.

You can apply from either and there is NO NEED AT ALL for an agent. The form is trivial. Just be sure to attach all the proofs and documents they ask for to confirm your wife really is your wife.

Just go onto the website and take a look at the requirements.

Macau provides 30 days visa on arrival for indian passports..No fees.

For HK visitor visa run, there is no guarentee you might get a visa while re-entering..Best way is to apply a dependant visa at HK immigration...Just photocopies are enough, still its better to have the original in hand, incase there is a need for verification.. make sure ur wifes passport expiry date is long enough to cover the visa duration and has enough blank pages...Also translate any documents thats not in english...
