    Working on Dependents pass

    Hello,

I have looked at the HK government site re: working whilst on a dependents pass and from what I can gather I can work (my husband will be here for work). However, it does not explicitly state this, I am inferring it from the the section which states that one can not work if the dependents partner is a resident for study purposes. Have I undestood it correctly?

I have also looked on this site and can not find a definitive answer.

    Thanking you in advance

Yes, you have understood correctly. If you have a Dependant Visa sponsored by someone who is a Permanent Resident, or who is on an Employment Visa or who is on an Investment Visa then you may work, study or do pretty much whatever you want without further permission from Immigration.

(This is less restrictive than your husband's visa - he may only work for the employer sponsoring his visa.)

See Q6 in the FAQ here: The Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region - Immigration Department

Thanks PDLM. It is always good to have that reinforcement that you got it right.
