    Current Work Visa Processing Time

    Hi All,

I'm hoping to move out to HK in the near future after just receiving an offer from a company in HK. The relocation agency my new company are using to assist the process has just submitted the application today.

I'm keen to understand if anyone has recently submitted an application and how long did it take?

I'm from the UK, with a university degree and good educational background, 6 years experience within the relevant industry.

Would be good to hear any recent experiences....

Anywhere between 2 to 4 weeks if all the documents are in order...I have seen people in this forum getting visa in lesser than 2 weeks, but ideally it takes some time...you can check your visa status urself online...

Probably depends how clear cut it is that you're filling a role that a local can't do, too. I got my work visa as a Native English Teacher so it was pretty clear cut. I remember mine was around 2 weeks. (This was just over three years ago, in september)

    Thanks Guys.

Appreciate the quick responses. Hopefully it will be in the 2-4 region. Cue anxious wait.

    Hi,

I've been waiting for 9 weeks now for my visa... A bit puzzled, I've done a 6 months internship (for PCCW), and they decided to hire me. They emphasized the fact that I am a native French speaker and that it is needed for the position.

I gave few documents late (my diploma, on early november, and its translation few days after), and the officers keep telling HR that there are no problems so far, though they keep pushing it back (the officer in charge just went on vacation while I was supposed to get an answer this friday and gave the case to someone else).

I'd be very surprised if pccw don't get it approved in the end.

But I'm really curious as to what HK-based job with PCCW would require a native French speaker?

Well I've been working on partnerships with French companies and I am building a network of potential customers based in HK.

Also how much is pccw paying. I'd imagine it will be under the 20k threshold for a grad which may give immigration a reason to reject your application
