Question Visa for domestic helper to come from Philippines

We are moving to HK in Jan. and know of someone we would like to hire to be our live-in helper. She is living at her home in the Phillipines currently. So my question is, does anybody know the possibility of her coming to work for us and what would be required?

The form is here: http://www.immd.gov.hk/ehtml/id(e)407k.htm but unfortunately the booklet referenced doesn't seem to be available online. But in principle it should be OK.

You do need to go through an agency, as their local contract needs to be submitted to the Phils consulate for approval.

Yes, its an exercise in frustration, but most agencies have a fee where they walk (or pretend to walk) your paper work through the system, get the health checks done, book the tickets and get the helper over from the phils.

Not sure about the issue where the wages can be negotiated below govt mandated minimum wages.
