    Verification of documents

My sis has an appointment for verification of documents for her Right to Land. She can't really take much time off work and I'm just wondering how long you think it'd take?

    - Pick up certified copied of Birth Cert @ 10AM~ (ordered online)

    - Arrive at appointment at immigration for verification of doc @ 3PM

    - Get picture and photo taken ?? (When could this be done?)

    - pick up card.. can this be posted? If so, can it be posted overseas? Can someone pick this up for her?

SEPERATELY, has anyone flown domestically via shenzhen.. is it totally non English friendly compared to international flights? I'd like to fly to Beijing from Shenzhen but im scared that my lack of Chinese will be a problem.

    For your second question:
Shenzhen airport is pretty easy to navigate. Lots of English signage and checkin staff will speak some English. You need to be checked in around 45 minutes before departure. There are direct buses to the airport from different parts of Hong Kong - for example Elements (Kowloon Station) and Wanchai.

As to ID card, you need an appointment for that.
the daily quota fills up fast.
On the spot you cant go early as you need a sticker in your passport to be accepted. But you dont have to do it on the same day. She can use her passport, the system knows she has RTL

Her ID card image will be taken after her verification of documents (assuming everything is in order), but in both cases you will have to wait in queue like everyone else does, even with an appointment at 3pm, you may not get served until 3:30-3:45pm, then the process is repeated when you go to get your ID card image taken (they check your documents again at this step also). Slim chance she would be out of immigration before 5pm.

HKID cards must be picked up in person either by herself or a person nominated by her (could be you or a friend), they won't post ID cards anywhere.

shenzhen airport is pretty far from lowu/lok ma chau, north part of bao'an district, around 25 mins taxi ( we cross the border at 6.15 as our flights were at 8.15, probably 1hr 15 mins via underground, cross the border early ( get your visa in HK so can go through any border crossing)

Again. For ID card a separate app. Is necessary, walk in quota most likely to be full that time.

As a non Chinese speaker I have flown out of Shenzhen several times and it's easy. Use Shenzhen bay port crossing for easier and faster transfer. Have the airport and Shenzhen bay port written in Chinese to use taxis. Cheap and easy.

Agree with Min that Shenzhen Bay crossing is a better choice - not only is the crossing point easier (all in one building and on one level) and less crowded, but once on the other side, you can check in for your flight at the right hand side of the back of the immigration building. If you want to be really cheap, you can either take an airport coach (RMB70, about 40 minutes) or the route 8 bus (RMB15, about an hour) to Bao'an.

Yes, says 75 mins, but I don't think it has ever been that quick if taking the total time from departure at Elements to arrival at Shenzhen Airport. I think closer to 90 or 100 minutes in practice - nearly always have to wait for a bus after crossing the border (collect all the luggage and go through immigration- which is easy at Shenzhen port).

I think the first bus at 6am should be ok for an 8:15 flight. I think the Shenzhen Bay crossing opens at 6:30 - so the bus is one of the first vehicles through.

You can also check in for the flight before you board the bus at Elements.
