How long have you been married? You sound to me like a newlywed or someone very young.
    Be grownup and be patient.
Immigration will get back to you but they do get backed up - and now CNY.

Over the years Some of us have had many months apart from families and spouses. It is not nice but thats the way life works at times.
Just think, you will have a great reunion when you do get together again and in the mean time there is phone, skype, email, send photos etc.

Concentrate on whats here, not what you are missing and the time will pass.

thanks a lot for all your valuable comments.
we received a letter from ImmD asking for my appointment letter and proof that my company pays for my housing allowance.
i have also submitted them in a week's time.

i read from other threads that it takes 4-6 weeks from there??
    is that so...

    please advise..

There's really no advice anyone can give but to tell you to wait =(. From personal experience, the whole process to get my husband his dependant visa was 2 weeks from submission. He's from America however and from what it looks like on these forums, country of origin may more than likely play a factor.

    I'm happy for you
Forgive me for my ignorance regarding dependent visa application.
From what I remember, when I applied for my spouse and my parents in 2001, the Immigration kinda approved it on the spot because after the short interview with all the documents that we submitted, the officer gave us the notification letter to pick up the visa in 14 days.
Maybe the procedure changed now and it becomes complicated and the waiting time is getting longer.
Anyway, I'm happy that the visa for your husband's approved
