Apply for 3 months visit visa while dependent visa is in progress

Hi, I am working here in employment visa. i applied dependent visa for my husband. its almost 6 weeks now! my husband was with me for the past 4 weeks. once we got extension from ImmD (indian passport). now he went back to India as visitor visa expired
Its hard for us to live away from each other.
can i apply for visitor visa (1 or 3 months) and make my husband come here again, until we get dependent visa.

you really should call IMMD and explain the situation...they are reasonable people for the most part...i would think the chance would be good that they would extend..

we tried for the second time and they gave for 5 days and strictly warned that he must leave..
my friend says, if i call immd they will further delay the process.. is that so??

5 days ?? sometimes skin color matters...your friend is correct, don't call them for status. you can check the status online. my suggestion for visitor visa, don't apply while dependent visa is in process...this visitor visa processing time is at least 4 weeks , so better wait for the dependent visa outcome.

How long have you been married? If not long, were you able to provide evidence of the seriousness of the relationship? (Photos with each other's families, shared banks accounts, property, etc?)

As I posted before just be thankful you were not applying for your husband to join you in the UK, some cases have taken over 10 years.

Two options, sit and wait even though that is really hard or make a total pain of yourself. The second option can work, and did in my case both for HK and UK, but can also backfire.

    uuhhh....
this waiting time is really killing...
    1) 6 weeks of wait is over
    2) applied for extension twice and got it. (stayed here together for almost one month)
    3) visa period ended - and he went back to India
    4) what can i do now

is there anyway to bring him back with visitor visa for 1 or 3 months..
next week full is going to be a Govt holiday..

no idea as of whats going to happen..

    somebody... please guide me!!!

If the Hong Kong immigration dept is a little busy / backed up, then it isnt unusual for dependent visa processing times to stretch to 13 weeks. They usually process them between 5 to 13 weeks, so you will just need to be a little patient.

It doesnt sound like there is a problem, if there were, hkimd would have informed you of any discrepencies in your application early on. You will just have to sit tight and wait your turn....
