    Rude Immigration officer

I was trying to extend my viza and I got a very rude Immigration officer who kept picking on me. First of all, I applied 10 days before the viza runs out but the he kept insisting that I'm applying late and he kept asking me why I'm applying so late. I told him that I'm not late because you can apply within 1months before your viza runs out. Yet he kept asking me why I'm late. The next time I came to bring some additional documents to him he started picking on me why I didn't submit the photocopy of the photograph before seeing him and I said that people who took my documents said that there's no need to give them photocopies and that I should give them to the officer himself. He began picking on me for not giving copies to those people and why I didn't do so, even though I told him that they didn't take them. Seriously, this is just unprofessional and rude and I want to complain about it. I would like to know about the proper procedures of making a complaint?

Maybe he usually processes visa renewals?

I have a feeling however that the problem may not be limited completely to the immigration officer him/herself.
Before you submit your complaint, I suggest you think carefully about what you brought to the discussion .. e.g. your attitude, your general demeanour, were you in a rush? etc etc.

I'm not taking sides, just being the devil's advocate.

You indeed applied to late and I'd suggest you to eat a bit of humble pie...
For more information have a look here:

Q4:Where and when can I submit my application for extension of my visa?
    A4:
Applications may be made to the Extension Section or any Immigration Branch Offices (except Hong Kong Island Travel Documents Issuing Office) within four weeks before the expiry of your limit of stay.

Perhaps he was pissed because the T8 went down at 1:40pm and he had been hoping for a day off.

It happened to a mate of my, some immigration officer bitach started shouting at him so he told her to FUCK OFF and get me your supervisor. After explaining his issue the supervisor apologized to my mate.

Surely 10 days before expiry is "within four weeks before the expiry of your limit of stay"?

I wasn't in a rush and I tried to be very polite when I approached him. But he just seemed to be very pissed off at me for some reason and he gave the impression like he's one of those bully types. The next day I went to see him I didn't want to go alone as facing him again wasn't something I looked forward at all. I asked my husband to come with me for moral support. When the immigration officer began picking on me again my husband come up and interfered. They began arguing in Cantonese about something. Then the officer got pissed off and swapped with another officer who just calmly took my documents, asked to see my husband's ID(as it should be) and put a stamp on documents extending my stay.

Exactly! I came to renew earlier than 1 month prior and they refused saying that it should be within 1 month. So I came 10 days prior and I got picked on. You just can't satisfy those people...

Probably just something wrong with that particular officer, who knows, maybe as Claire said it was the typhoon or he got up from the wrong side of bed, bad hair day or whatever. And he decided to take out his frustration on you.

Well he made me come again, as I said I went to see him 2 days in a row and he picked on me for 2 days. Unless he got up from the wrong side of the bed 2 days in a row... Eitherway, I don't think it's a proper behavior for an immi officer? They aren't supposed to be outright rude to people. The officers I had prior to him were all nice.

    Unfortunately, I'm white so I can't bitch-slap the mofo
