    Smile Are my parents eligible for Dependent Visa?

    Hi

    I am from India and my parents are mostly flying into HK next month,, i would like them to stay with me for more than 3 months are they eligible for the Dependent Visa scheme on me?

    If you are a HK Permanent Resident (i.e. you have the Right of Abode or Right to Land) AND if they are aged 60 or over, then yes.

    Otherwise, no.

    interestin - cos Grandma went bankrupt about 3 years ago..

    she's jus hit 60 maybe even 61 ( woman of mystery)

    so jus normal dependant visa situ - ie health care etc..

    she prob wants to do some export kind of business on the side as well

    lemme rephrase that -

    would bankruptcy affect application for dependant visa?

    she past the first bit - but if she gets a wind fall in the next year or 2 she has to make some paybacks..

    ( basically she was rentin a shop in an airport - they suddenly hiked the rent beyond belief an 3 month later no one was flying any more )

    She went personally bankrupt, or just a company she owned?

    And in which country?

    UK - and yeah she was personally bankrupt

    On reflection I don't see how it would make a difference anyway - the key test for a Dependant Visa is to show that the sponsor (i.e. you, if by "Grandma" you actually mean your mother) has the financial means to support her as well as your other obligations.
