    process for applying? rtl/hkid/rop 145 rop 1

i've asked already and gotten it essentially established that i cna get RTL.

my situation: i have a juvenile hkid (old style) issued in 1991- it states i have right to abode...and that i need to change it when i'm 18. obviously i didn't cause i wasn't in the country (which looks ok when reading hk immigration website).

so...do i simply treat this (when i go back) as a renewal?

    i.e. what's listed here:
    (rop1)
The Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region - Immigration Department

or...do i have to go through the arduous process of filling out the rop145 to prove my right to abode (or rather land)

if anyone has been through either step please list the process- i.e. time it takes etc...

    thanks!

i've known many friends who came back after many years to apply for an adult id card, they have stated that there is no problem to obtain one, but it may take a few weeks, you can arrange someone for your behalf to pick it up (written consent needed) or come back at a later date.

I believe it may be harder if you have never had a juvenile id card, but i am not too sure
