Travelling to China having obtained HKID

GeoExpatters, does anyone know definitively what the deal is with visiting China as an Australian passport-holder who has now obtained her HKID? Are there provisions for entering China on a HKID as opposed to a passport?

    Thanks

You can't enter the Mainland on an HKID card. You need a visa.

You still have to apply a visa. Nobody can enter China with a HKID.
