We would cover so much more ground if you would just tell us, your age, nationality and language stills.

Hi all,
Our work permit visas are still hanging. Well there is a plan which was suggested ; that being from India we could travel there and stay for 14 days. Then with in tat time frame the visa will be ready. Work permit visa will be applied by dec 25th or so i guess.
if those 14 days are not enough then we could go to macao and then again extend it for 14 days. This way we get 28 days and they say with in that we will get our work visas.
So pls suggest is it ok? to stay there and after we get the work visas continue to stay there?
Please comment !
The lead time for Employment Visa applications is generally from 4-6 weeks, excluding public holidays, and depending on how prompt your potential employer is providing required information to ImmD (and whether they have sponsored Employment Visa applicants in the recent past).
There are several public holidays coming up (Dec 25, Dec 26, Jan 1) so that will delay applications made around this time.
To get an Employment Visa in 28 days at this time of year would be unusual, particularly if your employer has no previous record of sponsoring Employment Visas.
I would strongly advise NOT travelling to Hong Kong until the visa is granted. If the application hasn't even been submitted yet, then I would suggest that the chances of you "working in HK within January (as you suggested in a previous post) are really quite slim.
I would also be extremely suspicious of a potential employer who is trying to encourage you to come to HK before you have even submitted your application for an Employment Visa. Many people have been scammed in situations like that.

Thank you for your reply! What ever you have suggested is right. i will check with our visa consultant and then let you know, But as you said we also don't want to travel without work visas.
Will update you on the next move. Thanks for your time.
Regards
Amar
Why do you have a "visa consultant"? Employment Visas sponsored by an employer are very straightforward things to apply for. Has your potential employer sponsored anyone for an Employment Visa before?
There are some legitimate firms using visa consultants. Those too busy to process applications themselves, for example. However, I tend to agree, the word "visa consultant" when applied to Hong Kong is generally a huge red flag.
well i dont know; but our company at Hk is applying it thru a broker visa firm ;who knows how to process the work permit visas, so as per their request we are filling in all forms etc. Hope we get them soon.
We used a visa consultant to process the applications for all our visa's originally. Having just wasted several hours in the Immigration Office queuing up for a visa transfer I am glad we did so.
well wat u said is right ( BRIT) as i have already provided all set of firms for me and my wife ; which cover all required docs as per the visa requirements prescribed by the immi dept. But on top it there are a lot of letters which they have been asking out hk branch to produce ; in order to fulfill the requirement. So its good that with the help pf the consultant its bit easy , as they suggest wat should be the exact content of the letters.
The more faster it is it will be a relief to us as, we are in mid of this process after selling all stuff here @ india, its so difficult and also a kind of mental strain tat we r gng thru ....now.
