What happens if you loose a visa label before taking the plane to Hong Kong?

I am in the middle of getting a study visa processed at the IMMD. The visa should be ready before I begin study, but it takes too long if they have to send it to me in my country.
I can go to Hong Kong as a tourist, get the study visa, go to Macau and back. I know that.
I just thought that maybe if I go to the airport at say that I have lost my study visa label, then they could print out a new one, and then I would not have to go to Macau.

I just thought this would be possible, because if I have student status, then should they not be able to look it up in their computer or something, at the airport?

Your visa won't just fall out of your passport, it's a sticker that is stuck onto a page of your passport. They'd know you were lying at that point.
And no, they can't just print out a visa sticker for you at the airport.

At the best, they will give you a courtesy 1 week tourist visa and ask you to contact relevant department and get your visa label printed!! You cant get it printed at any border control, unlike the tourist/visit visa labels...only relevant officers in respective dept in immigration can issue visa labels..

Also the student visa label you are getting is just a single entry visa for entering hk.and enrolling urself and will only be activated while you are arriving at hk airport, not when departing.. Once you activate your entry visa, the immd officer will chop a big stamp, which actually is the visa containing the univ info and expiry date..

Take it into the bathroom on the plane and tighten it.

assuming you can enter HK as a visitor, that should be no problem in principle. the only issue is that the visa must be sent to your home address in your country from where someone will need to send it to you (with the risk of it getting lost). once it's in your hand (i.e. the letter), you can then go to Macau.
Regarding the Macau trip, you can save yourself the actual time for the trip if you go through the immigration counters in Hong Kong and turn around before boarding the boat. Upon entering through immigration they can stamp your visa sticker into your passport. You still need to pay for a ticket though.

I think turning around is not possible without the border control offficers help..you have to contact them and let them take you to the arrival level after explaining the reason for turning back!!

The lift from 1/F departure level goes to sea level. from there there are lift s to 2/F, arrival level (In HK China City that is). The question is if you will run into problems without a Macau or China chop in the passport.
