    HKPR interview?

    So put in my application.

Got a letter saying they need me to come in to verify originals of my HKID.

What happens after that? Do I get my Permanent HKID approved on the day and my temp Permanent HKID or is there another step?

Will my existing visa (dependant) also be cancelled that day?

WHAT HAPPENS PEOPLE???? I NEED ANSWERS!!!!!

They check your docs, then send you down to the 8th floor, redo your thumbprints and photo, give you the temp id paper and tell you to come back in 2 weeks.

    They don't touch your visa

Thanks guys (although Morrison, WTF, have no idea what you are saying!!!)

So this is all happening on Monday, does that mean I need to get a haircut and shave my beard?

Also, according to the letter, I only need to bring my HKID, do I need to bring anything else?

SO MUCH TO DO!!!! SO LITTLE TIME!!!!

I think regulations have changed now and include:
    - a 30 min endurance test listening to speeches of various CCP officials - you must not fall asleep!
    - composing and reading a poem declaring you undying love for China and the CCP (best to prepare the poem beforehand)
    - a listening test, you 'll listen through a whole of John Tsang's speeches - you must not get angry, shake your head of mutter that his numbers neither make sense or add up

There might be some more tasks, so best to wear clean socks and bring some nourishing food (like frozen chapatis)

You only need to bring what they told you. Having said that, probably wouldn't hurt to take your passport.

Ok, you don't have much time, but you could try the following 'image enhancing' suggestions.
    1. Dye your hair red and put one big and four small yellow stars just above your right ear.
    2. Buy plenty of Mao Tse Tung batches and place the strategically across your outfit (which of course should be a Mao suit)
    3. Forget about wearing a matching Mao hat, it'll ruin your hair style.
    4. Carry a little red book (not little red riding hood) in your chest pocket (make sure your interviewer can recognise it)
    5. If you have a beard you could shave something like 'I heart China' into it - that'll really impress your interviewer.
    6. Don't listen to people who tell you to bring your passport only, bring lots of red envelopes (called bribes in other countries) just in case
