Why go to HK ImmD for a UK passport? What am I missing here?

Because the kids visa will expire and she won't have a passport to put it in.

The fastest renewal I got was by mailing it back to my parents in the UK. They applied locally, and then send it back to me. Speedpost, and international signed for, respectively.

3 weeks round trip.

Just an update on UK passport renewals....the long delays over the summer are well and truly resolved.

It's easier for me because I'm here in the UK but I sent my passport renewal in last Sat afternoon (my local London Post Office opens until 5.30pm on a Sat) and when I got home yesterday (Fri) from being away on business for a couple of days, my new passport was waiting for me!! Have to admit that I was pretty stunned. That's less than one calendar week including posting within the UK each way. And yes, it was their Standard service.

So if your UK passport is coming up for renewal, now is a good time to do it!!
