Applying for a dependent HKID card

I am a permanent HKID card holder and my husband is a British citizen with a working visa, we have been married for over a year and I think it's time for me to get his dependent HKID card sorted!

I am guessing there is no harm in applying for the dependent HKID/visa for him right? So that he isn't totally reliant on the working visa alone?

Please help and direct me to the right web sites/locations with the details of what I need to do, thank you so much!

He will have an ID card as he is already on a Work Visa, What you need is a Dependent VISA for him. Here is the Immigration website on how to apply for one.

    Hi

When does your husband's work visa expire. My advice would be to wait until maybe 2 months before its expiry and then apply for the dependant visa then. The reason being is that the first dependant visa ends up being a year (I think), with subsequent ones being 3 years (again, I think).

Info on dependant visa is here:

FYI, he cannot hold an employment visa and a dependent visa concurrently.
